Hatsan's gas-operated semi-automatics work in all weather with everything from light 24 gram steel shot loads to magnum ammunition with up to 57 grams of shot.
HATSAN-SMART-VALVE
Hatsan's reliable gas-operated system automatically adjusts the gas pressure to the ammunition.
Even if you mix light 24 gram loads with heavy 57 gram magnum loads, the patented system will always supply the cycling mechanism with the correct gas pressure. The Smart Valve Piston also reduces recoil, which reduces muzzle rise and gives faster shots.
The Smart Valve Piston is standard on all Hatsan Escort Semi Auto.
With heavy loads (max 57 grams) the pressure will be regulated. Excess pressure will pass outside the mechanism, which protects the firearm and reduces recoil.
With light loads (min 24 grams) almost all gas pressure will be used to cycle the system.

Interchangeable chokes
All barrels on the Hatsan Escort (except the slug barrels) come with 5 interchangeable chokes.
Extra Full Choke is available as an accessory. Half (M), Quarter (IC) and open (CYL) are recommended for steel shot.

Adjustable stock
Shooting a shotgun with a stock that does not fit is unnecessarily difficult. The Hatsan Escort is therefore easy to adapt to the shooter.
Each firearm comes with 3 shims for adjusting the stock's cast as well as 1 shim for pitch / stock drop.
Hatsan Escort Supreme, Escort Xtreme and Escort with wooden stocks come with 3 shims that adjust the stock length. Each shim adds 5 mm.
On other Escort models with synthetic stocks, the firearm comes with a medium-thick butt pad which gives a 36cm stock length /
